How Much Does a Shed Cost in Connecticut?

If you are shopping for a shed in Connecticut, the first question is usually simple: how much will it cost? The honest answer depends on the shed’s size, materials, wall height, doors, windows and options—and on whether delivery and installation are included in the advertised price.

Eastern Connecticut Sheds builds wood storage sheds directly on the customer’s property. Our published prices include delivery, on-site construction, installation and basic leveling with block supports. That makes it easier to compare the completed cost rather than comparing a finished installation with a building-only price.

Current shed prices by size

Our smaller sheds begin with a 4×8 at $2,890, a 6×8 at $3,390 and an 8×8 at $4,090. Popular mid-size choices include an 8×10 at $4,690, an 8×12 at $4,990, a 10×10 at $4,990 and a 10×12 at $5,890.

For customers who need more storage or workspace, current prices include a 10×14 at $6,790, a 10×16 at $6,990, a 10×20 at $7,990 and a 12×16 at $7,890. Prices can change over time, so request a written quote before making a final decision.

What is included in the shed price?

A standard Eastern Connecticut Sheds build includes pressure-treated 2×6 floor framing, LP SmartSide siding, PVC trim, 30-year architectural shingles, double doors and two windows. Standard color is Desert Tan with white PVC trim. Delivery, on-site construction, installation and basic leveling are included.

Common shed upgrades

Popular upgrades include custom Benjamin Moore paint for $350, a ramp for $175 and a loft for $150. Customers can also ask about additional doors, shutters, flower boxes, workbenches and taller walls. Standard sidewalls are approximately 6.5 feet tall, with 7-foot and 8-foot wall upgrades available.

Why total installed cost matters

Two sheds with the same advertised price may not have the same final cost. Ask whether delivery, installation, leveling, windows, doors, floor framing and site access charges are included. A lower building price can become more expensive after required services and options are added.

Does the property need a gravel base?

Eastern Connecticut Sheds does not provide a gravel base. We build on-site and level the shed using block supports. Property conditions vary, so customers should consider drainage, slope, setbacks and local zoning requirements before choosing the final location.

Do you need a permit?

Smaller sheds under 200 square feet often do not require a building permit in Connecticut, but municipal zoning rules and setback requirements can still apply. Requirements vary by town, so check with the local land-use or building department before installation.

How ordering works

After discussing the size, property and options, we provide an official written quote. A 50% deposit reserves the build date, and scheduling is commonly three to five weeks out. The remaining balance is handled according to the written agreement.

Choosing the right shed

The best value is not always the smallest or least expensive shed. Think about what must fit inside, how much walking and working room you need, whether equipment requires a ramp, and how your storage needs may grow. A slightly larger shed can prevent the frustration of outgrowing the building too soon.
